High School

NIVA American’s High School curriculum prepares students for college education specializing in science, medical, engineering, business, and technological fields. Students are daily exposed to critical thinking to solve problems and to be able to communicate ideas verbally, in writing, and through the use of technology. All aspects of teaching and learning involve playgrounds for leadership and entrepreneurship. Biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and liberal arts are taught up to the US Advanced Placement (AP) level which can earn students competitive college admission opportunities and advanced university credits at many colleges in the United States.

High School students are also primed for SAT and AP examinations, project-based learning, and public speaking. On the social side, over 80% of the events held on campus are planned and executed or assisted by high school students and the leadership class.

Upon graduating from NIVA American, students are mature, confident, responsible, leadership capable, fluent in English and Thai to enter and excel in universities both in Thailand (international programs) and abroad. NIVA American graduates have achieved top ranking achievements in Japan, England, the United States, and Thailand for their academic and social contributions. Many of our alumni own businesses or are in top leadership and administrative positions.

Subject Areas

English Language, Literature

Four years of high school language arts are required for graduation, and these will usually focus on critical reading and writing skills during grades 9 and 10, then on literature during grades 11 and 12. An effective high school language arts curriculum integrates the disciplines of listening and speaking, language study, reading and literature, and research and composition.

Thai Language and Culture

We believe that all students need to learn about the culture and traditions of their host country, and we ensure that all of our students have a lesson in Thai studies each week and experience the annual celebrations of Thailand. The Thai language is an integral part of our curriculum in accordance with Thai government regulations.

Physics, AP Physics

The physics curriculum is one of three science courses offered at the high school level. Physics is taught using a combination of multimedia lessons, instructional videos, quizzes, tests, and both online and offline projects. The physics course is designed to prepare students for college-level science.

Biology, AP Biology

In high school, a biology curriculum should focus on actively engaging students with the world around them. Students should gain in-depth knowledge of the different living organisms and the environments they each live in to better protect, sustain or enhance the natural environment.

Chemistry, AP Chemistry

High school chemistry introduces students to more complicated topics such as stoichiometry, thermodynamics, virtual laboratory experiments, and more. This strong base of knowledge will prepare them for subjects such as physics and advanced biology in the near future.

Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus

The main goal of Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, and Calculus is to develop fluency in working with linear equations and extend their knowledge of irrational numbers, experience with tables, and graphs as well as help them make meaningful connections to real life’s experiences.

Computer-based Statistics

Introduction to Computer-based Statistics teaches students to reason with, and think critically about, data in all forms. The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for High School Statistics and Probability relevant to data science are taught along with the data demands of good citizenship in the 21st century.

Environmental Science

The study of environmental science pulls from knowledge of multiple other science disciplines, allowing high schoolers to apply the knowledge they’ve acquired in biology, physical science, and earth sciences. It helps students have a natural curiosity about environmental topics such as sustainability, biodiversity, and how humans are impacting the earth.

World History, World Geography, AP Human Geography

The World History and Geography areas of focus prioritize the skills fundamental to the study of history and geography in high school. This gives students multiple opportunities to think and work like historians and geographers as they develop and strengthen these disciplinary reasoning skills throughout their education.

Accounting, Business, Economics, Marketing, Entrepreneurship

This course provides opportunities to learn and experience a variety of topics in the field of business. Students are exposed to various economies, their roles in our economy, entrepreneurship, marketing, managing financial and technological resources, and the use of social media.

Leadership, Psychology, Sociology

A course centered on the behavior of people in groups. Topics included are socialization, institutions, social interaction, social change, collective behavior, and competition in society. Activities include library research, group activities, and simulations, as well as standardized testing.

Physical Education (PE), Swimming, and Sports

PE instruction is sequential and planned to develop and improve performance skills, impart knowledge and concepts relevant to the activity, introduce information concerning the fitness and health benefits of regular exercise, and help students develop and maintain physical fitness.

Values & Health, Religious Studies

Religious Education at All Saints provokes challenging questions about the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, the self and the nature of reality, issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human.

Computer Science, 2D Art & Design, Digital Printing, Business Technology, Video Production

students who study computer science perform better in other subjects, excel at problem-solving, and are more likely to attend college. For high schools, we offer computer science courses for beginners. Other courses are 2D Art & Design, Digital Printing, Business Technology, and Video Production.
